Staff of hfm receives five national awards for reporting, design and podcast

On May 13, the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) honored the editorial team behind HFMA’s hfm magazine, e-newsletters, online content and “Voices in Healthcare Finance” podcast with five national awards, including:
- Gold, Feature Article, “Where did our sickest patients go?” which also was elevated to best in show among entries in all categories
- Silver, Redesign, for the 2020 redesign of hfm
- Silver, Q&A, “Hard truths about the state of the healthcare industry” interview with HFMA President & CEO Joe Fifer
- Bronze, Podcast, “Voices in Healthcare Finance: Election Special”
Those honors followed six regional ASBPE awards that were announced last month, when the team won two golds, two silvers and two bronzes in the Midwest competition.
In addition, the EXCEL Awards — the largest and most prestigious program recognizing excellence in association media, publishing, marketing and communications — announced HFMA’s editorial team was in the running for five more national honors related to hfm and the “Voices” podcast. Results will be announced in June.
