Jill Griffith-Goodwin
2024-2025 Region 3 Regional Executive
Jill is a managing director with the Healthcare Performance Improvement team. With more than 35 years of healthcare experience, Jill brings a unique perspective to clients with her ability to draw upon her hospital operational experience and her keen understanding of government and commercial payment system regulations.
She leads Forvis Mazars’ Provider-Based and Compliance service line which includes assisting hospitals with clinic strategies to optimize reimbursement and 340B Drug Pricing Program opportunities, performing Provider-based Compliance assessments to ensure compliance with all provider-based rules, assisting hospitals with establishing both provider-based and free-standing Rural Health Clinics as well as standing up remote locations of hospitals under the provider-based rule. Additionally, she assists hospitals with ensuring their Corporate Compliance structure is effective and often assists with establishing annual work plans for the department.
Her prior experience includes corporate director of reimbursement, chief compliance officer for large health systems that include large and small hospitals as well as physician practice groups and post-acute care components. She works closely with attorneys regarding compliance reviews, independent review organization engagements, and other compliance-related matters requiring repayment and self-disclosure.
Jill is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Professional Coder. She speaks nationally for various healthcare industry audiences.
Jill is currently serving as the HFMA Region IV Regional Executive. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Healthcare Financial Managers Association, American Academy of Professional Coders and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
She is a graduate of University of Charleston, West Virginia, with a B.S. degree in accounting.

Nick Ficklin
2024-2025 Region 3 Regional Executive 2
Nick is a Director at Blue & Co., LLC with over 15 years of experience working primarily in healthcare reimbursement. Nick leads the Managed Care Contracting, Medicaid DSH, Medicare DSH and Worksheet S-10 teams for the firm.
Nick graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in Accounting & Professional Services. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Indiana and a Fellow Healthcare Financial Management Association. Nick served as the past president for the KY Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a member of the AICPA, KY Society of CPA’s and Young Professionals Association of Louisville. Nick now resides in Louisville, Kentucky. He loves to travel to US National Parks, golf and Indiana University sports.

Elizabeth Staas
2024-2025 Region 3 Regional Executive 3
Elizabeth Staas is a tenured Healthcare Revenue Cycle Professional with extensive experience in optimizing the time utilized while reducing the cost of hospital and physician revenue cycle services. Her background spans provider and partner entities, focusing on billing/denials, eligibility enrollment, automated denial via AI while leveraging technology and automation through AI and MBL. Elizabeth has forged significant and lengthy partnerships with national healthcare providers, stand-alone hospitals, CAHs, and physician practices to decrease costs, improve revenue, and enhance clinical outcomes.
Her work with providers across the US informs her national perspective on the challenges between providers and payers. Elizabeth has served as President and Education Chair of the Virginia/DC HFMA, led numerous Women in Leadership Summits, and is currently a Regional Executive for HFMA Region 4. She has also lobbied at the state and federal levels on behalf of the healthcare provider sector.
Elizabeth is not just a leader but a recognized figure in the healthcare industry. She has chaired and organized multiple HFMA and AAHAM educational events and served on the National HFMA Chapters 2.0 Committee. Her contributions to HFMA have been honored with the Follmer Bronze, Reeves Silver, Muncie Gold Merit Awards, and The Founders Medal of Honor.
