HFMA Comments on the Transparency in Coverage Proposed Rule

HFMA submitted comments to the Departments of Health and Human Services, Labor and Treasury on the Transparency in Coverage proposed rule. Comments include proposals related to providing out-of-pocket price estimates for insured patients. The letter also discusses four items to allow a patient to make a value-based decision about where to receive care that should be included in any price estimate provided, as well as recommendations to include in the final rule.
