HFMA Comments on Additional Policy and Regulatory Revisions in Response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency

HFMA submitted a comment letter to CMS regarding the interim final rule, Additional Policy and Regulatory Revisions in Response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency  (IFC), to ensure that once a COVID-19 vaccine is available, all Americans will have access to it without cost sharing. In the letter, HFMA discusses its members specific concerns regarding the rule’s provisions, including:

  • Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS): New COVID-19 Treatments Add-on Payment (NCTAP)
  • Medicare Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS): Separate Payment for New COVID–19 Treatments
  • Updates to the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Model, Performance Year (PY) 5 During the PHE
