No committee experience, no problem! At the HFMA Metropolitan New York Chapter, we pride ourselves on providing quality educational and networking experiences for our members. Being on a Committee, gives you the opportunity to help us create those experiences and to:
- Develop new skill sets and capabilities in a psychologically safe environment
- Strengthen your network and relationships
- Gain experience working as part of a large group moving toward a common purpose
- Forge new friendships and partnerships
- Connect to your community in new and exciting ways
The 2025-2026 HFMA Education year is June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026. You can volunteer as much or as little throughout the year. The average commitment of a volunteer is only 1-2 hours per month. By investing your time in our Chapter, it empowerspositive change in the healthcare industry and in you.
We encourage you to talk to our Chapter leaders and find out what their experiences have been. It could be the first step on a journey with rewards you may never have imagined.
If you are already one of our volunteers, we are grateful for your service. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our Chapter. Without you, what we have accomplished would not have been possible.

Work alongside your peers to develop educational programs covering new and trending topics in finance, reimbursement, and audit.
Collaborate amongst the Finance, Women in Leadership, and Revenue Cycle committee chairs to assist with their events and brainstorm. Develop programs for the broad membership community.
Address key industry challenges and best practices in the areas of patient access, HIM, and revenue cycle through programming and networking opportunities.
Assist Education committees in sourcing speakers and topics for virtual education.
Join leaders and aspiring leaders as they create a program focused on enhancing leadership competencies, adapting in rapidly changing environments, and breaking the glass ceiling.
Be strategic and innovative in helping us reach our Metro NY healthcare community. This includes social media postings, newsletters, and promotion of conferences and networking events.
Coordinate the chapter’s new member outreach, engage with current membership, and communicate the value of HFMA Metro NY.
Plan and execute activities for members, new members, friends, and family.
Solicit and retain annual Corporate Sponsors, Provider and Academic Partners, and Event Sponsors to drive incremental revenue for the chapter. Our partners are vital to the chapter being able to provide quality education and networking opportunities.
