HFMA leaders take on new roles in client services, technology and revenue cycle

Three HFMA members — a former Chair of HFMA’s Board, a current HFMA Board member and a current chapter president — have each moved into new healthcare finance positions.

Tammie Jackson is serving as chief commercial officer at Knowtion Health

Tammie Jackson, FHFMA, MHA, a former Chair of HFMA’s Board, accepted the position as chief commercial officer for Knowtion Health in Boca Raton, Fla., on Feb. 17. With more than 25 years of healthcare revenue cycle leadership experience, Jackson is leading the company’s sales, marketing and client services.

“I’m excited to explore how I can help — how I can leverage my experience and lead this team to better serve our customers,” Jackson said.

Previously, Jackson was chief revenue officer for Janus Health in Chicago, after having served as interim president in 2024. Other previous experience includes as chief growth officer for Plano, Texas-based FinThrive and leadership roles with Conifer Health, Transunion Healthcare and Cardon Outreach. Jackson served as HFMA’s Board Chair during the Association’s fiscal year 2021-22. Currently a member of HFMA’s South Texas Chapter, she joined HFMA in June 2002.

Deepak Sadagopan is helping lead Risant Health’s value-based platform

On March 3, Deepak Sadagopan, MHCDS, a current member of HFMA’s Board of Directors, was appointed business lead, value-based platform, for Risant Health in Washington, D.C. Previously, Sadagopan served as COO, population health at Providence in Renton, Wash., and as CEO and chair of the board of Health Connect Partners LLC, an accountable care organization serving the greater Seattle area. These appointments followed more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, including leadership roles at Siemens, Quest Diagnostics, McKesson and Edifecs.

Today, Sadagopan also is a clinical assistant professor of health economics, value-based care, at the University of Washington School of Public Health. Between 2023 and 2025, he served as an executive forum member of the Baltimore-based Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network, a public-private partnership whose purpose is to speed the U.S. healthcare system’s transition from fee-for-service to alternative payment models. Sadagopan is a member of the Washington-Alaska Chapter, having joined HFMA in 2012.

Brittany Roth joins Avera Health as executive director

Having started on March 31 as executive director of revenue integrity at Avera Health in Sioux Falls, S.D., Brittany Roth, CHFP, CRCR, CSMC, brings nearly 10 years of experience to this role. She previously served as a managed care contracting consultant and as director, managed care contracting and enrollment, at Phelps Health in Rolla, Mo. Other previous appointments include seven years at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls in various roles, the most recent being as payor contracting business partner and as provider contract’s specialist. As of June 1, Roth began serving as president of the HFMA South Dakota Chapter, having been actively involved in the chapter since she joined HFMA in 2020.
