Published November 10, 2022 2:51 pm | Updated February 27, 2023 2:55 pm

HFMA, with sponsorship by MRO, surveyed 317 healthcare revenue cycle, finance and accounting executives to understand how organizations are handling claim audits, risk exposure, claim tracking, and reserves. The research found that half of healthcare organizations hold more than three percent of total NPR in reserves each fiscal year in anticipation of denials claims, with over a third holding back greater than five percent. However, less than a quarter of organizations track trends related to clinically avoidable denials.
