President’s Welcome

Dear South Texas HFMA Chapter Members,

I am honored and grateful fit is a true honor to step into the role of President for the South Texas HFMA Chapter. As I begin this journey, I do so with deep appreciation for the strength of our community and excitement for the year ahead.

First, I want to extend heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Rachel Pugliano for her outstanding leadership during the 2024–2025 chapter year. Under her guidance, South Texas built even stronger bonds with our fellow Texas chapters—bonds that have opened new doors for collaboration, inspiration, and impact. Rachel’s commitment to connection was felt across every initiative, including a fantastic holiday volunteer event that brought us together in service of our community.

Thanks to her leadership and the incredible teamwork across our chapter and our Texas peers, we were proud to be named runner-up for two national HFMA chapter awards and winner of the Value Award—a recognition I was especially proud to support through direct collaboration efforts. These milestones show what we can achieve when we unite across boundaries and put our shared mission first.

Looking ahead, our theme for this year is “Stronger Together: Educate. Network. Serve.”

This reflects what I believe our members value most—and why many of us joined HFMA in the first place:

• Education that empowers. We’ll continue to deliver top-tier content that addresses the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare finance professionals today.
• Networking that connects. Whether through conferences, happy hours, or virtual events, we’re creating more spaces for members to build meaningful relationships.
• Service that strengthens. From volunteer opportunities to student engagement, we’ll grow the next generation of healthcare leaders and support the communities we serve.

My goal this year is simple: to make it easy—and enjoyable—for you to plug in, show up, and grow. Whether you’re a long-time member, a new face, or someone looking to volunteer for the first time, this is your chapter, and your involvement matters.
