Northern California Chapter

President’s Welcome

Hello Everyone!

I’m truly honored to step into the role of President for the HFMA Northern California Chapter this year. Being part of this community—made up of passionate, thoughtful, and talented professionals—has been a gift, and I’m excited to give back in a bigger way.

First, a sincere thank you to our outgoing President, Don Briones, for his wisdom, leadership, and support. And to all the volunteers, leaders, and members who keep this chapter thriving—you are the heartbeat of what we do. Everything we accomplish is because of your time, energy, and commitment.

As we move into this new chapter year together, my focus is on building connection, creating opportunities, and making sure every member feels like they have a place here. One of my top priorities is supporting our volunteers—not just by asking for help, but by creating meaningful development opportunities, offering real recognition, and showing genuine appreciation for the time and talent you bring.

I want to expand how we deliver value to our members. That means offering more accessible virtual education—so you can plug in and learn from wherever you are, in a way that fits your life and schedule. At the same time, I believe deeply in the power of in-person connection. So we’ll be looking for ways to bring our community together through events that go beyond education and networking—events that offer shared experiences, opportunities to collaborate, and space to recharge alongside others who truly understand the work you do.

More than anything, I want this chapter to feel alive—with energy, purpose, and people who care. If you’re already involved, thank you. And if you’ve been thinking about jumping in, now’s the perfect time. There’s space for everyone to grow, contribute, and feel like they’re part of something meaningful.

Here’s to a year of connection, growth, and showing up for each other in all the best ways.

Respectfully,

Lisa Stark
President, HFMA Northern California Chapter
