Description:
The Certification Committee oversees the maintenance and expansion of the certification programs for the Metro Philadelphia Chapter.
Certification Committee members are knowledgeable, or willing to learn, about CHFP, CRCR, and all certifications, learning opportunities and requirements offered by HFMA.
Activities:
- Develop a certification plan for the chapter
- Promote certification opportunities
- Answer member questions about certification and training
- Hold one or more CHFP and CRC trainings each, per year, using a course coordinator/trainer
- Work closely with the Enterprise and Education Committees to ensure that programs are aligned to support the goals of the Certification Committee
- Collaborate with the Communications Committee to highlight individuals that pass exams

Description:
The Communications Committee oversees the Website, Social Media, local Philadelphia Chapter Newsletter, and any non-event emails. It develops and executes a strategic and creative communications strategy to successfully promote the Chapter’s Activities (Education, Career Building, Networking, and Chapter Involvement). It communicates with all committees, the National Association, and HFMA members to ensure key information is disseminated regarding upcoming events and other relevant information. The committee also assists with photography and registration during HFMA educational events.

Description:
The Membership Committee encourages participation and retention of members. They focus on increasing engagement of Enterprise member organizations and their members and foster engagement among stakeholders in the Chapter. Sustain and evolve the growth of volunteers within the Chapter. Ensures new members feel welcome and settled upon first joining HFMA and receive a welcome gift. The membership committee organizes and facilitates the volunteers for in-person events and works to increase participation in Chapter committees for new and existing volunteers.

Activities:
- Develop and implement a recruiting and retention plan that aligns with the chapter board initiatives
- Develop and implement a membership survey for better understanding the

- Work with all of the chapter committees to ensure that activities and programs are supplied with the necessary volunteers
- Welcome new members to HFMA and the Metropolitan Philly Chapter
- Meet up with new members and be a familiar face at their first few events

Description:
The Metro Philadelphia Program Committee provides support to individual event planning committees by coordinating and facilitating the process and documentation of planning for educational events.
Program Committee members are a mix of provider-related and non-provider-related individuals with a variety of experience such as finance, revenue cycle, contract management, data analysis, human resources, etc. to help pick topics that are relevant and of interest to chapter members. Ideally volunteers are from the Philadelphia and surrounding area.
Activities:
- Partners with each of the event committees to ensure educational programming is set up and of interest to the community
- Brainstorm and solicit program topics
- Collaborate with all other committees to ensure events run smoothly
- Assist event committees with venue selection and ensure the website, marketing, and presentation materials are accurate
- Liaise with national association personnel for event set-up in Cvent

Description:
The Sponsorship Committee identifies vendors in the market with an interest in promoting their company to the Metro Philly Chapter’s membership. We strive to find a variety of benefit options to fit the needs and budget constraints of potential chapter sponsors. We also coordinate with chapter leadership and members to communicate the value and commitment our chapter sponsors provide.
Sponsorship Committee members are a mix of provider-related and non-provider-related individuals from across the Philly Metro.
Activities:
- Plan and execute an annual sponsorship campaign
- Determine the sponsorship benefit packages
- Solicit sponsors
- Verify logos and materials are received
- Coordinate and verify website promotion, electronic media promotion, and signage at events
- Monitor the sponsors utilization of the benefits and satisfaction
- Regularly follow up with chapter leadership and the sponsors to help ensure both the chapter and sponsors needs are being met.
Time:
- Average 15-25 hours of service during the year, with a concentration of time during the annual sponsorship campaign (July – January). This time will be spent coordinating the sponsorship activities including compiling a list of business partners for outreach, and soliciting those vendors, periodic check in with the vendors throughout the year in addition to various other items that may come up. One person from this committee will be expected to attend (listen in to) the overall programming group calls which are monthly (to help ensure sponsors are provided adequate speaking opportunities), and one person on this committee will be expected to coordinate with the networking committee periodically as well.

- Event Lead – Establish budget and oversee end-to-end planning of the event. Coordinates all activities and ensures all committee members are supported in their respective areas of contribution. - Venue Lead – Assist with venue selection, contracting, logistics, and negotiations. Includes food selection, parking passes, table layouts, etc. Includes logistics for head shots and any other day of activities, which may include lunch table topics, book swaps, etc. Works with Volunteer Committee to identify day of volunteers to support registration,. Ensure all day-of (registration/badges) are onsite for event.
- Sponsorship Coordinator – Coordinates attendee gifts, if applicable. Coordinates with Marketing/Branding to recognize sponsor. Assist with Sponsor outreach to achieve target. Event may be unique and require direct outreach to potential event sponsors (begins 5 months before event). Assisting with day of event recognition for sponsors at the venue (obtains logos and ensures all sponsors are recognized and appreciated for their contributions.
- Networking Event/Happy Hour Lead – Determine and schedule the networking events (e.g. post conference Happy Hour), collaborating with the Networking Committee. Establish branding for the Event; coordinate with Communication Committee to assist with image development to be used on all branding. Develop pre-meeting promotional content to include Speaker Highlights, Session Highlights, etc. to be used in cVent site, LinkedIn promotions, Social Networking, Chapter Newsletters, Chapter Emails, etc. to drive conference attendance. Collaborate with chapter Communications and Program committees. Creates sponsor poster boards, thank you cards and any other promotional materials. Conduct outreach to past attendees and speakers who are non-members to invite them to attend and promote the event.
- Event Marketing /Branding – Establish branding for the Event; coordinate with Communication Committee to assist with image development to be used on all branding. Develop pre-meeting promotional content to include Speaker Highlights, Session Highlights, etc. to be used in cVent site, LinkedIn promotions, Social Networking, Chapter Newsletters, Chapter Emails, etc. to drive conference attendance. Description:
The Accounting and Auditing Committee coordinates various aspects of the A&A seminar, from agenda topics, to speaker recruitment, to “day of event” tasks.
The Golf Tournament/ Spa day Committee plans the annual golf outing for the Metro Philly Chapter.

Activities:
- Plan and execute a full day golf tournament and Spa day

Facilitates weekly committee member calls and gives consideration to other chapter events, sponsorship outreach and speaker coordination when timing event marketing efforts.
Venue Lead – Assist with venue selection, contracting, logistics, and negotiations. Includes food selection, parking passes, table layouts, etc. Includes logistics for head shots and any other day of activities, which may include lunch table topics, book swaps, etc. Works with Volunteer Committee to identify day of volunteers to support registration, Q&A runners, etc. Ensure all day-of (registration/badges) are onsite for event.
Sponsorship Coordinator – Coordinates attendee gifts, if applicable. Coordinates with Marketing/Branding to recognize sponsor. Assist with Sponsor outreach to achieve target. Event may be unique and require direct outreach to potential event sponsors (begins 5 months before event). Assisting with day of event recognition for sponsors at the venue (obtains logos and ensures all sponsors are recognized and appreciated for their contributions.
Networking Event/Happy Hour Lead – Determine and schedule the networking events (e.g. post conference Happy Hour), collaborating with the Networking Committee. Establish branding for the Event; coordinate with Communication Committee to assist with image development to be used on all branding. Develop pre-meeting promotional content to include Speaker Highlights, Session Highlights, etc. to be used in cVent site, LinkedIn promotions, Social Networking, Chapter Newsletters, Chapter Emails, etc. to drive conference attendance. Collaborate with chapter Communications and Program committees. Creates sponsor poster boards, thank you cards and any other promotional materials. Conduct outreach to past attendees and speakers who are non-members to invite them to attend and promote the event.

Event Day Speaker / Sponsor Liaison – Serve as point of contact for speakers and sponsors the day of event to assist with registrations, preparedness, time assignments, etc. Obtains all materials (PPTs) and bios and head shots to be used in marketing and day of PowerPoint slides. Ensures all speaker gifts are purchased and thank you cards ready for speakers.
Speaker Development – Help identify and solicit speaker participation based on conference theme/topics identified by committee. Ensures a diverse group of speakers, backgrounds and experiences. Generate a running list of potential future and past speakers.
