Contract Year 2026 Medicare Advantage Plan Provider Directory Data Requirements Final Rule Summary

On September 19, 2025, CMS published in the Federal Register (90 FR 45140) a final rule to finalize a previously proposed Medicare Advantage (MA) plan provider directory requirement. The final rule lays out requirements for the format of MA plan provider directories, and requires that MA plans annually attest to the accuracy of the provider directory information at the time this information is submitted to CMS. CMS is NOT finalizing a proposal that would have required plans to attest that provider directory data are consistent with data plans submit to comply with Medicare’s MA network adequacy standards.
