HFMA chapters and regions lauded at 2025 Success Awards celebration

Open to all members this year, HFMA’s 2025 Leadership Summit gathered over 650 participants, including chapter and regional volunteers and others in Nashville, Tenn.,
May 4-6. Attendees participated in content tracks from effective communication skills to strategies for building innovative and high-performing teams. They also celebrated the 2025 Success Award recipients.

General session speakers included HFMA President and CEO C. Ann Jordan, JD, HFMA 2025-26 Chair-elect Kiran Batheja, and keynote speaker Aaron Fields, founder of the Fields group, who discussed the neuroscience of procrastination, the impacts of distractions and tactics to keep you more focused throughout your day. 

HFMA chapters and regions were recognized with Success Awards May 5 at a luncheon celebration for achievements in three categories as follows.

Innovation

The Arkansas and Central Ohio Chapters tied in the individual chapter category, and the Northern New England and Massachusetts Rhode Island Chapters won the multi-chapter award.

Launching a volunteer engagement video campaign, the Central Ohio Chapter achieved a nearly 6% engagement rate and a nearly 37% increase in committee volunteers.
The Arkansas Chapter developed the “PIG (Providers, Information, Gathering) Trail to OneHFMA!” to better reach providers in the rural areas.
The Northern New England and Massachusetts-Rhode Island Chapters enhanced student involvement and career development through educational and engagement opportunities.

Value

The Rochester Regional Chapter was the individual chapter winner, and the multi-chapter award went to Lone Star, South Texas and Texas Gulf Coast Chapters. The regional winner was Region 4, and the multi-region award went to Regions 10 and 11.

The Lone Star, South Texas and Texas Gulf Coast Chapters extended outreach beyond HFMA membership for Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) Boot Camp registration while improving exam preparation.
The Western Region Symposium’s steering committee for Regions 10 and 11 enacted a request for proposals process and partnered with a new vendor to increase event management efficiencies.
Emphasizing the value of certifications in member communications, the
Rochester Regional Chapter increased member certification by 200% over three years.
By dedicating chapter resources, including a webinar committee chair, Region 4 streamlined its webinar series planning and increased webinar attendance.

Engagement

There was a tie in the individual chapter category between the Arizona and First Illinois Chapters, and the multichapter award went to the Iowa and Nebraska Chapters. Region 6 was the individual region winner, and Regions 8 and 10 took home the multi-region award.

The Arizona Chapter established a “Train the Trainer Program” for certification boot camps and increased HFMA certifications by 28%, surpassing its engagement goal.
For the two-day Region 6 conference in Central Ohio, region leaders facilitated networking and education options to attract CFOs and revenue management executives.
Developing its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) committee, the First Illinois Chapter has prioritized DEI education to provide equitable access to HFMA resources.
Co-hosting “Survive. Thrive. Lead: Region 8 Women’s Leadership Conference,” the Iowa and Nebraska Chapters increased engagement with providers and business partners.
Regions 8 and 10 enhanced member engagement and
increased CRCR certifications 13% by providing a virtual
boot camp on the HFMA YouTube channel.
