People: HFMA members step into new CFO roles 

Jessica Graham is serving as CFO of Banner – University Medical Center Tucson

Banner – University Medical Center Tucson appointed Jessica Graham, MBA, as CFO in May. Graham’s previous appointments include more than six years with Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System and a 10-month stint as interim vice president and chief business officer with University of Texas Health Rio Grande Valley, based in Edinburg, Texas. For most of her tenure with Memorial Hermann, she was CFO for the health system’s flagship academic medical center. Prior to these roles, Graham served as senior director of quality and revenue at Altus Health in Houston and director of finance and cancer services at Houston Methodist. Graham has been an HFMA member with the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter since August 2014.

Carondelet Health Network has named Austin B. Frazier, Jr., Market CFO

In April, Austin B. Frazier, Jr., FACHE, accepted the position of market CFO at Carondelet Health Network in Tucson, Ariz., transitioning from his role as CFO at Carondelet’s St. Mary’s Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital. Frazier’s previous appointments include CFO at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon, Ill. (recently acquired by Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare and renamed OSF Saint Katherine Medical Center), and regional vice president, finance — Loyola Medical Group, part of Trinity Health Illinois in Chicago. He also brings more than 20 years of experience of coding and health information experience across director and manager roles at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston and Bon Secours Health System in Richmond. Va., after having started his career as a consultant with various consulting firms. Currently a member of the Arizona Chapter, Frazier has been an HFMA member for nearly nine years.

Chris Lewis has joined Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital

Chris Lewis, CHFP, MBA, began his appointment as CFO at Chicago-based Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in April. One of eight facilities acquired from St. Louis-based Ascension in March, the 361-bed hospital is part of Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare. Previously, Lewis was director of finance operations and budget process manager at UChicago Medicine. He has also held financial analyst positions at Chicago-based AMITA Health, Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, Ill., and Presence Health in Chicago. Lewis has been a member of HFMA’s First Illinois Chapter since 2017.

Knoxville Hospital & Clinics has appointed Sean Dhabalt as CFO

Since May 19, Sean Dhabalt has been CFO of Knoxville Hospital & Clinics (KHC), an affiliate of Des Moines, Iowa-based MercyOne, bringing more than 30 years of financial expertise to the role. Prior to joining KHC, Dhabalt served for 23 years as CFO at Iowa Radiology/Professional Medical Management in Des Moines, Iowa, overseeing accounting, finance and budgeting operations while managing financial strategy for the growth of two companies. He is a new member of HFMA, having joined the Association in June 2025.
